Grand Prize: Apex Legends™ – 6,000 (+700 Bonus) Apex Coins

About the game:

Royal battles are not done only from the lazy. In the aftermath of the hype raised by PUBG and Fortnite, everyone strives to split to a new genre from large publishers to unidentified studios. Everything resembles running after an outgoing train, so it's not surprising that the tendency for such projects has been the subject of ridicule. The statement of any video game devoted to this mode arouses an obvious response: dear creators that you can not come up with anything new within this particular genre, do something else!

It ends up they can. So much so that Epic Games and PUBG Corp. need to think hard about how to take care of a daring newcomer. Meet the new king - Apex Legends.

A nice surprise

The simple fact that EA is going to launch the Titanfall spin-off in this kind of odd form wasn't known until the very last moment. After the purchase of "electronics" studio Respawn Entertainment, there were rumors concerning the next element, but nothing longer. The simple fact that rather than a separate independent video game within this world, we'll be given a f2p shot, and also even in the genre of this royal battle, has been a surprise. However, there was simply no opportunity to be surprised: the very first rumors about a new project appeared a few days before the official announcement, immediately and the video game was published.

The move was a deliberate choice by the creators of Apex Legends - according to Respawn Entertainment executive producer Drew McCoy, "Let the computer game speak for itself." And the fact is what can be worse than the news "EA bought us, so instead of the next portion of Titanfall we are creating a free shot with lootboxes"? Is that the announcement of a similar job for mobile devices.

Be as it may, such a feint has fully justified itself. In the aftermath of the enthusiasm raised by this kind of unexpected launch, Apex Legends managed to collect a vital mass of players that chose to have a peek at the brand new shooter. And on you - that the shooter proven to be somewhat great! After just a day, you can find two and a half million who once launched the Legends; a week later, they had been ten times longer. At the moment, the listing for users concurrently in the computer game is equal to 2 thousand, and also, seemingly, this is not anywhere near the limit.

I'm legend

Regardless of any royal battle, there are two fundamental principles: a narrowing and damaging ring does not let it sit in 1 area and inexorably compels players from each other, and in the close of the round there should be just one (or one team, if we're speaking about a style for squads). Apex Legends does not infringe on those unshakable foundations of this genre, but rather boldly experiments with others.

The most noticeable is the presence of various personalities, or, as they are known here, legends. Every character, where there are eight so much, has a unique look and unique skills and abilities, just like in some MOBA or even Overwatch (since we've got a shot ). There are 3 skills for each: one passive, one triggered and, eventually, final, especially significant, which, from habit, is known as an "ult." As an instance, a healthful Gibraltar includes a little power shield when aiming from some other weapon, knows how to put in a protective dome that is impervious to bullets and shells, and his third skill causes a potent bombardment; the enjoyable robot Pathfinder conveys a cat hook, which instantly moves in any way, can scan beacons to find out the place of the next ring, and finally hooks a unique cable to a reasonably considerable space, which allies could use.

I will not list all the legends and all their skills, and I will just mention that the designers were able to create truly unique characters - both externally and in terms of gameplay. By this, they are very reminiscent of the main personalities of Overwatch, minus the limitations on the use of weapons and gear - everyone is equal here.

Apex Legends has no solo mode - only team fights (at least now). Sixty players are fighting the map: two dozen teams of three individuals each. Before landing, you must select a character for yourself and wait for the comrades to try it, and there cannot be two identical legends in the team. The tactics for the approaching struggle should be considered even then - we remember the stage of selection in various MOBAs.

There is only one map so much - Kings Canyon. Despite its somewhat small size (compared with all the open areas of PUBG), it's a somewhat mixed group of places where there are equally open spaces and smaller villages with crowded homes, and in certain places, there are enormous buildings with a true labyrinth of chambers. Those who were waiting for the titans from Titanfall is going to probably be disappointed: there is not any technology whatsoever in the video game. Yes and it is not required - the figures run very briskly, therefore passing away from the circle happens very infrequently.

Landing on the battlefield is conventional to its genre - falling from a wonderful height, which lets you fly to nearly anywhere on the map. Well, then the familiar fun begins - a feverish search for at least some sort of weapon, so the first fights with people who landed nearby, the conclusion of the boundaries of the next ring, along with the planned motion towards the safe zone together with the collection of precious loot. To kill all the ones you meet or hide to the past - the choice is yours.

Security in numbers

Apex Legends is a group action film. The dearth of a solo mode is not casual (and it's still unknown whether they can add it in the future without breaking up the balance): many gameplay mechanisms are specifically built on the interaction of players.

The passing of one of the allies is not a paragraph. Firstly, provided that he hasn't expired or is completed by enemies, a comrade can be reanimated. Secondly, even if this didn't succeed, then the survivors have up to a minute and a half to raise a banner from the corpse. It can be attributed to one of these lighthouses of the Renaissance, in which the deceased will go back to existence.

The large value of this TTK indicator (time to kill, about speaking - how many bullets have to be implanted in the enemy to kill him) not only contributes to delayed shootings but also nullifies almost all attempts to manage the enemy independently. Despite an advantageous position, you can't always use it wounded birds are immediately handled, and when your opponents stick together, then wait for a barrage of return shots. And this is not taking into consideration the skills of these characters, and virtually every one of these has something in reserve which will help both himself and his comrades to survive in battle or to conceal. You have to stick together.

It's clear that it's much better to behave on a team already played with voice communication, but fits with "randoms" as allies can also be rather successful. Apex has an excellent tagging system which helps to understand even the not very talkative folks who prefer to not utilize a microphone.
